About Us
At Elev, we’re driven by a single purpose — to make high-resolution elevation data truly usable: fast, accurate, and ready to go. Founded in 2025 by long-time collaborators Graham Hammond and Shane Crossman, Elev was created to solve a problem seen first hand after decades in national elevation programs, spatial data governance, and product delivery. Despite all the investment in LiDAR and terrain data, what users received was often fragmented, inconsistent, and time-consuming to
prepare. We knew there had to be a better way.
So we built it.
Elev transforms raw, patchwork elevation inputs into clean, curated Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) designed for immediate use. Our datasets are transparent, traceable, and built for clarity — no hidden gaps, no guesswork. If there are voids in the source data, we show them, so you can make informed decisions based on truth, not assumptions.
Because real data isn’t perfect — but it should always be trustworthy.

What We Deliver
We currently provide high-quality, 1-metre Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) derived from LiDAR data across Australia
Each dataset product:
- Incorporates multiple LiDAR surveys, prioritising the latest data available
- Is supplied in GeoTIFF format with a full Metadata Index shapefile for traceability
- Is consistantly projected to GDA2020 to align with modern mapping standards.

Who are We?
Our team has led Australia’s most significant elevation and LiDAR initiatives — from the ELVIS Elevation Infrastructure and ICSM Elevation & Depth 2030 Strategy, to the MDBA Floodplain LiDAR Project.
Founder and Director - Graham Hammond brings over 30 years of experience across all levels of government — Local, State, and
Commonwealth — as well as roles in contracting and academia. His broad perspective provides both strategic oversight and practical insight into the challenges professionals face on the ground.
Founder - Shane Crossman adds more than 30 years in the spatial industry, spanning both the private sector and the Australian Government. His career has focused on data delivery, production, policy, and application, bringing deep technical expertise and a clear understanding of how to connect spatial data with real-world outcomes.
Together, our leadership team combines decades of experience shaping how elevation data is captured, managed, and delivered across Australia. That knowledge is built directly into everything we do — ensuring every Elev dataset is transparent, traceable, and ready for use from day one.
